“For the battle is not yours, but God’s.”
2 Chronicles 20:15
Control—it’s something we all crave, yet it’s often nothing more than an illusion. I find myself clinging to the semblance of control, despite knowing that true control is beyond my grasp. When reality sets in and I realize my limitations, feelings of helplessness and hopelessness can easily take over.
It’s natural to explore ways to change our circumstances or seek God’s guidance on what actions to take. However, I’ve discovered that the most profound peace comes when I remind myself that I am not, have never been, and will never be in control. My life is in God’s hands, and I am dependent on Him for everything. Without His guidance and power, I am helpless to effect any real change.
When I struggle with my lack of control, I visualize a comforting scene: I imagine myself as a little girl, curled up on God’s lap. With my head resting against His chest, I feel His loving arms around me, and He whispers softly, “Don’t wrestle; just nestle with me.” This image reminds me that I don’t have to fight the battles alone. God is in control, and I can find rest and peace in His embrace.
In these moments of surrender, I find a deeper connection with God. The Scripture from 2 Chronicles 20:15 reassures me that the battles I face are not mine to fight alone. God is with me, and He will lead me through every challenge.
So, as you experience the beauty of God’s presence, commit to deepening your understanding of Him. Let your knowledge of God be more than an emotional experience; let it be a solid foundation that supports you through every season of life. In doing so, you’ll find that His presence isn’t just a momentary joy but a constant source of strength and peace, guiding you through both the valleys and the peaks of your journey.
What image or Scripture helps you to rest and nestle with God instead of struggling and fighting over what can’t be changed? Take a moment to reflect on how you can lean into His presence and find peace in knowing that He is in control. Embrace the comfort of His love and let go of the need to control, trusting that God will guide you through every storm.
The success of Yoga does not lie in the ability to perform postures but in how it positively changes the way we live our life and our relationships.
